Sarah Weaver, BN/RN, MACP, LCT-C & Specializing in Perinatal Mental Health
The Urquhart Program was founded by Sarah Weaver, a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) who recently completed her master’s in counselling psychology and is now a Licensed Counselling Therapist-Candidate (LCT-C). Sarah has specialized training in birth and reproductive trauma and holds a certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a focus on women’s reproductive mental health. Her dual expertise as a nurse and counselling therapist allows her to provide comprehensive support to the perinatal population, addressing both mental health needs and practical aspects of parenthood, such as baby care.
Sarah’s mission is to bridge gaps in perinatal care by collaborating with the healthcare system and community resources to create a network of support. Over the past few months, she has been raising awareness about the importance of trauma-informed care within the healthcare system to reduce trauma and re-traumatization. Her passion for improving perinatal care has driven her to advocate for better support systems in New Brunswick.
