BLee Williams

As a veteran, athlete/coach, father/grandfather, and retired engineer, BLee brings a lot of life experience to his counselling. His approach is cognitive and behavioral: helping people to understand what they are experiencing and assisting them in addressing their needs. The understanding of what emotions are and how to manage them is central to his approach. A key facet of his practice is providing a useful and actionable mental health model which the client can actively apply in their daily lives.

BLee has a person-centered approach using the interpersonal/real relationship, and drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. The emphasis is on the client’s control of themselves, the identification of their needs and the setting and achieving of goals.

BLee’s background in physical activity is an important part of his counselling. He integrates Applied Sport Psychology into his practice, and assists people in meeting all sorts of performance challenges. He is experienced in the management of concussions and works with people on Return to School/Work and Return to Play protocols and has a role with Horizon Health/TraumaNB as Concussion Education Workshop Leader (he’s the CEWL).
